Croc

It was taken by Ian Salisbury in the middle of a safari in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia.

It captures perhaps the most confident crocodile ever.

I don’t know if he’s a dreamer or just a hungry reptile, but we often do the same thing. We think that all we need is confidence. We think all we need is a can do attitude. We think we just need to be positive and we can rule the world!

And so bite an elephant. We try to write an entire book in a weekend. We try to start a business in a week. We try to get in shape in an hour. The problem is, big dreams are made of a thousand tiny actions. No one lands on top of the mountain on day one. They take a step. And then another. And then another. They move a marble from one jar to another until a year later, they’ve got a lot of marbles.

It’s almost January, which is elephant season for a lot of us.

Go bold this new year, but go small too.

Biting elephants is a great way to get discouraged and end up quitting before you’ve even begun.
